About us: Kingston based alt-rock covers band, but one with a difference - we're doing something a bit more alternative, edgy, cool and more interesting than the sadly unimaginative numb-nuts pub rock you can find anywhere on a Friday or Saturday night. We like 'guitar bands' that do alt-rock, psych, garage, post-punk, spacey-soundscapes, shoegaze, stoner-grunge (love a bit of drop tuning)... Think Smashing Pumpkins, early Radiohead, Ride, My Bloody Valentine, early Verve, Dark Star (remember them?), Tame Impala (first album), A Place to Bury Strangers, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Joy Division, early Cure, Ringo Deathstarr, Band of Skulls, Mad Season, Soundgarden, BRMC, Desert Mountain Tribe, Savages, Elastica, Wolfmother, Sonic Youth... Get the picture? Really just great bands that make exciting, dynamic, guitar-oriented sounds with plenty of attitude. We're all seasoned musicians - done the "wanna make it in the industry" stuff, and now just looking to do it for the kicks - rehearse once a week or so, do the occasional gig, and have lots of fun in the process.
About you: Competent and reliable bass player, able to pick up new tunes quickly - willing to take the music seriously, but above all have fun doing it. Age and gender not important (we're all mid-40s; unpretentious, but still cool enough to give the young dudes a run for their money), but some passion, commitment and musical ability would be a great start!
