Personal Assistant/ Housekeeping
Description
Hello,
I am looking for a full time job as a personal assistant.
The job can also include some light housekeeping.
At present I am working as a personal assistant, and although I do not work in a typical office environment, I do have opportunities to use secretarial skills as well as my book-keeping training and filing skills, on a regular basis.
The nature of my current post requires from me a good use of organisational skills, especially when it comes to prioritising my workload. By way of illustration, I carry out the following tasks for my employer, who is an international arbitrator and business coach:
1. Answering the phone and taking messages.
2. Preparing and issuing monthly invoices to clients, together with covering letters.
3. Book-keeping, using SAGE, and liaising with my employer's accountant.
4. Quarterly VAT returns.
5. Filing (paper and electronic).
6. Printing, copying and organising documents.
7. Receiving deliveries.
8. Liaising with tradesmen and other visitors.
9. Creating and maintaining a spreadsheet record of clients and other contacts.
10. Making reservations for train travel and hotels.
In the past I also worked as a secretary/personal assistant in demanding posts, which involved dealing with delicate and confidential matters, working as part of a team, and working under pressure.
My years working as a teacher as well as my first years in the United Kingdom gave me the experience and skills needed to perform well under pressure. I learnt to combine work and studies, to respect different cultures and faiths, to deal with people and their problems in open but decisive manner. Working with young people taught me to see others potential and help them reach it. Working in jobs not connected with teaching, such as housekeeping or taking care of elderly people taught me flexibility and adaptability.
In the past I have worked as a teacher, school librarian, secretary, housekeeper/nanny, and a carer. I have worked with children, and cared for the elderly. I hope all those experiences could be of value for someone who is looking for some help, maybe with organising a day to day life, home office or archive/ library.
But I also know how to prepare a social event or information portfolio, how to put together an interesting trip... I work well under pressure, and know how to be a part of a team.
I am honest, hard working and enthusiastic.
I hold full UK driving licence.
I speak English, Polish, and Russian.
I'll be happy to provide references when required.
