VOLKSWAGEN POLO MATCH 1.4 - 9 MONTHS MOT
£500
Description
2001 Volkwagen Polo 1.4 (Match)
I've owned the car for the past 3 years and am selling due to having bought something newer. In those three years, the car has never broken down. I will do my best to list ALL good and bad points below.
POSITIVES
- 9 months MOT (expires March 2017)
- recent new front brakes
- low mileage for age (less than 7000 a year)
- low insurance bracket (group 11)
- remote central locking
- air conditioning
- electric windows
- 6 disc CD changer
- 5 door
As with any car of this age, it is not in pristine condition. That said, there are only minor
scrapes on the entire body and NO SIGN OF RUST ON THE BODYWORK.
At its most recent MOT I spent £300 to replace the entire exhaust from the manifold backwards INCLUDING cat box. It picked up a couple of advisories, I am told the offside-rear handbrake cable will need replacing within the next year and that the front tyres are beginning to approach legal limit.
£300 was spent 6000 miles ago overhauling the front brakes - new discs, pads and fluid etc.
One of the headlight housings does not properly locate however this has never caused an MOT failure for me and does not affect the operation of the lights. The indicators do not automatically cancel but, again, I've never found this to be an issue. At high speeds there is a tiny amount of wind noise from the upper corner of the driver's side window. I have NEVER had any leaks in the car but I believe this may be the cause of the wind-shield misting up in winter - it clears well with the air-con though! Possible slight bearing squeak from front offside wheel.
As you can see, I've tried my best to be as honest as possible with this listing as it is by no means brand new. I do believe there is plenty of life left in it though for someone needing a set of wheels!
I have the v5 under my name and also 3 keys.
Feel free to give me a ring or an email if you have any questions or to arrange a viewing. Unfortunately I cannot offer test drives as, due to purchasing a new car, I do not hold a valid insurance policy on this vehicle.
Thanks!
