Description
I bought this bike in 1977 and have covered nearly 50,000 miles on it. As you can see from the photos it's in very good condition. It has been stored for the last 12 years. To get it in running condition I have replaced:- front forks seals & oil, front brake fluid, some worn carburettor parts, timing belt and battery. Not much really. I have a full catalogue of work done over the years, e.g. frame stove enamelled, wheels repainted, tank repainted, seat recovered swing arm shaft & bushes replaced, nylon clutch washer conversion, piston rings & exhaust valves replaced plus loads of other stuff. It starts and runs a treat. It is also a great handling bike.
Additions are chrome plated engine plates, side stand, foot rests and rear brake lever. The front indicator stems are stainless steel as are the engine mounting bolts.
There are some bad bits:- paint has split by the front tank mounting, chrome is flaking off the rear springs and there is surface rust on the left hand exhaust downpipe (but the original seamed silencers are very good).
There is no current MOT. I don't have insurance to ride it. I can't see the MOT being a problem. All the electrics work, the brakes work and the tyres are good.
I have been advised not to sell it, but having not ridden it in 12 years maybe it's time to let it go to a new enthusiast.
This is your opportunity to obtain a rare and pretty Italian classic V twin motorbike.
